Our History and Background
The story of Frontier K9 Services
All my life, since I can remember, I have always loved having dogs as pets and being around dogs but never saw it as an option when it came to a career.
This changed around 9 years ago when we were having issues with our Adolescent German Shepherd. We were recommended by a friend to get in touch with Danny, who was a retired police dog trainer and conveniently for us, he only lived around the corner.
We started working with Danny and he completely changed my perspective on K9 Behaviour and Psychology and he sparked a flame that grew brighter every time I learned more. We became very good friends with Danny and he would regularly come over for dinner while we would talk about and discuss Canine Behaviour. Danny had around 5 dogs in his pack at that time who were all ‘red zone’ dogs who had been abandoned or were going to be destroyed due to having bite history.
He dedicated his life to rehabilitating and rehoming dogs and although these dogs would have been considered by the public to be ‘too aggressive’ and ‘lost causes’, the dogs lived together in complete harmony with clear guidance and strong leadership from Danny. I was fascinated with how he was able to do this and really admired how he had dedicated his life to rehabilitating and rehoming these dogs, giving them a second chance at life. Danny also assisted the police when they had to deal with any dogs who were extremely aggressive and needed to have them safely removed from the home to be assessed.
I began to shadow Danny in my spare time on evenings and weekends and assisted him when he was working with his own dogs, as well as client’s dogs who had behavioural issues. We even fostered one of his dogs, Pirate who was a German Shepherd with a bite history who nobody wanted to go near to, due to his reactivity. We quickly developed a bond with him, and all he needed were clear instructions and boundaries and he lived with us harmoniously alongside Koji and they both became fast friends and training partners.

During this time, I was practicing as a Civil Litigation Solicitor and after, set up my own Distribution Company. Although working with dogs was my true passion, and I just wanted to learn more and more, I still did not see it as a career option for myself. We continued to train and learn from Danny, and he was a mentor to me until he became ill and sadly passed away.
I stopped practicing law soon after as I never truly had a passion for it and focused on building my Distribution Company. Throughout this time however, my passion remained working with dogs and spent most of my spare time working with my own dogs as well as friends and family’s dogs who needed a bit of help with various behavioural issues, always applying Danny’s training techniques of calm leadership and clear communication which always worked.
After a while, I made the decision to focus on my passion to work with dogs, but although I had learnt so much from Danny, I wanted to develop my learning and experience further by becoming a Certified and Accredited K9 Trainer and Behaviourist. After completing relevant courses, and getting in touch with Michael McCann who is one of the country’s leading K9 Trainers and Behaviourists from K9 Training Services

I joined his mentorship programme and completed accredited courses with his training school developing my skills, with the aim to continue and progress my learning and accreditation with his training school so I can offer the best possible services to my clients. Michael continues to mentor me, and I go up to his training facility in Kent once a week to progress my learning, working with a range of dogs with different behavioural issues whilst applying techniques such as Counter Conditioning and Desensitisation to achieve Behaviour Modification.
Working with K9’s as professionals, we are always learning and should always strive to progress, which is why I am very grateful to have one of the leading K9 Trainers and Behaviourists in the country as a mentor to continue my journey of learning’.
